I am curator of sound and music sound designer on Hermit
HERMIT is a spectacular new performance work inspired by the life of Valeri Ricetti, the Hermit of Scenic Hill. Drawing on interviews with locals, historical documents and photographs, archeological research and their imagination, Scott Howie and Mat Schulz have devised a complex, multi-layered and beautiful story about love, isolation, exile, and madness that will add to the already rich legend of the Hermit. Combining live action with video projections, voice-overs, a cutting edge set design and an original soundtrack, HERMIT aims to reveal some of the man behind the myth. Through a series of flashbacks, dream sequences the story of how Valeri arrived at the hill and what happened to him while he was there is revealed? TAP Project This project began its life under the Griffith Regional Theatre - Theatre Access Program. TAP is an initiative supported by the Australia Council, The Australian Government's arts funding and advisory board and Arts NSW. It is part of the Local Stages initiative which aims to develop hot houses for the performing arts in regional communities - providing a platform for local performing artists to create and stage their works. It was this funding which saw the commissioning and workshop series of the script in addition to the development of a short video. The project has received significant funding from Arts NSW, Regional Arts NSW and Griffith City Council to see the realisation of this story For more information, please contact Marg Couch 6962 8455.
